Administrative Body
Goals and Objectives
In line with the Society’s overall goals, the Administration department’s goals and objectives are as follows:
Goal #1: To provide support to the various departments through financial, human resource, and overall communication means
Objective 1.1: To provide a steady stream of funds to the various projects that are developed and run by the various departments.
Objective 1.2: To allocate the appropriate manpower requirements to the various projects.
Objective 1.3: To provide inter-department communication as well as with the school administration and other external agents if need be.
Goal #2: To provide a centralized platform for the student body to reach the Psychology Society to gather information and provide feedback.
Objective 2.1: To develop and maintain a source of quality information for students interested in the field of psychology
Objective 2.2: To service the student body with the appropriate activities that will better their understanding of the field of psychology.
Objective 2.3: To provide a feedback system for the student body to relay opinions and suggestions for improvement, good service, and other possible options.
Events Department
Goals and Objectives
In line with the Society’s overall goals, the Events department’s goals and objectives are as follows:
Goal #1: To bring awareness and knowledge to the general public and the student members with regards to areas related to Psychology
Objective 1.1: To provide avenues to learn various prevention methods and coping skills to better our everyday lives
Objective 1.2: To provide ease for the general public and student members to the access of materials and knowledge related to Psychology
Objective 1.3: To provide avenues on career information in relation to the field of Psychology
Publications Department
Goals and Objectives
In line with the Society’s overall goals, the Publication department proposes the following goals and objectives:
Goal #1: To promote and maintain communication regarding Psychology Society for the members and the general student body.
Objective 1.1: To provide a venue for students to learn about various conferences, studies and interesting sub-fields of Psychology that are relevant to students’ interests.
Objective 1.2: To publicize past and upcoming events, research and internship opportunities provided to students by various departments within the Psychology Society.
Objective 1.3: To provide students the opportunity to channel their writing talents and insights related to Psychology by writing in as guest-writers.
Objective 1.4: To provide a venue for students a two-way communication with Psychology Society by writing in feedback and suggestions for upcoming issues.
Research & Internships Department
Goals and Objectives
In line with the Society’s overall goals, the Research and Internships department proposes the following goals and objectives:
Goal #1:To seek relevant research and internship opportunities provided by qualified Psychologists or organizations that complement the student population’s interests and career goals in the field of Psychology.
Objective 1.1: To identify students’ interests and career goals in the field of Psychology.
Objective 1.2: To identify available research and internship opportunities in the field of Psychology relevant to our students’ interests and career goals.
Objective 1.3: To connect students with a structured process to access relevant and authentic research and internship opportunities in the field of Psychology.
Goal #2: To promote and instill in students the academic, professional and research aptitude and attitude necessary for future careers in Psychology.
Objective 2.1: To create and promote opportunities for students to share their research results and experiences in both professional and informal settings.
Objective 2.2: To create and promote opportunities for students to share their internship and practical experiences with their peers.
Objective 2.3: To promote professional and ethical values expected of Psychologists as advocated by the Singapore Psychological Society’s Code of Professional Ethics.
